We (webmasters) have all spent a great deal of time and effort learning the art (and it IS an art) of web design. Whether formally educated or self-taught, our skills and talent are in high demand, more now than ever. That's not to say we get paid for our expertise. We all know competition is fierce and not all "professed" webmasters are fluent in the art.
I don't know one webmaster who isn't saddled with an onslaught of people who "need a little help" with their sites. We aren't talking about paid clients here. We're talking about friends, family members, co-workers or other webmasters that don't have adequate funds to pay for the expertise involved. So what's the appropriate way to handle those requests for assistance?
