There are many reasons one might want to set up more than one site in Joomla.  You may be testing extensions and modules and don't want to botch your online site, you may wish to test various templates, or you might have more than one site to run.  Whatever the reason, there are easy ways and complicated ways to back up your site or run multiple sites either online or offline.  Empowermom always opts for the "easy" way, taking into consideration (of course) that you must still be careful and thorough when developing a site.  Here is a step-by-step guide to install more than one site on your computer or on your server (including my favorite tools to make it even easier).
