It's a great feeling to complete your goal. The sense of accomplishment can be a real rush when you can sit back and admire your work. At that moment, remember to take time and acknowledge those who helped you. We rarely accomplish anything of value without a helping hand along the way. In addition, be sure you pass your knowledge on and help others.
Don't forget to pay it forward.

One of the key complaints I hear from fellow webmasters is the number of requests for help we get. Frankly, it's been my experience that it takes more time to explain why you can't offer up a "simple fix" rather than simply supplying the information requested. Often, a quick link (or two) in an e-mail can solve the problem without wasting time with an explanation. Sooooo, I'm going to ramble a bit in this article. Indulge me, please.

We (webmasters) have all spent a great deal of time and effort learning the art (and it IS an art) of web design. Whether formally educated or self-taught, our skills and talent are in high demand, more now than ever. That's not to say we get paid for our expertise. We all know competition is fierce and not all "professed" webmasters are fluent in the art.
I don't know one webmaster who isn't saddled with an onslaught of people who "need a little help" with their sites. We aren't talking about paid clients here. We're talking about friends, family members, co-workers or other webmasters that don't have adequate funds to pay for the expertise involved. So what's the appropriate way to handle those requests for assistance?
